The toughest part of being a new parent? Figuring out how infant diapers work. What is this yellow line? Where do these tabs go!? Which is the front!? Is the diaper full enough to change? And while you’re driving yourself into a mad frenzy your baby has wet themselves. Again. Now there’s double the work. So, sit back and relax, while we show you that changing disposable diapers is not in fact, rocket science once you know what you’re doing. A very common question that new parents have to grapple with is which are the best diapers to buy? Easy! It’s Snuggy, the best diapers for newborns. Why?
- Snuggy diapers are infused with anti-bacterial properties to protect baby’s sensitive skin.
- Side leak guards prevent leaks and trickles down the legs.
- Rapid absorption layer channels in leaks quickly to keep the baby dry and rash-free.
- Equipped with a susu meter, our smart diaper tells you when it’s time for a diaper change.
- Odour – lock technology locks smelly poop stinks within the diaper layers.
Before you go to town, let’s grab a few essentials.
- Always keep the clean baby diapers within your reach.
- Grab a few tissues, wet wipes or wash cloths, things may get real dirty real fast.
- A change of clothes for your baby, just in case the clothes get dirty too.
- Diaper rash cream or a gentle lotion.
- A clean, comfortable mat on which the baby is going to lay down for a change of infant diapers.
And this is how you change disposable diapers:
- Sanitize your hands, always. There’s just no skipping this step if you want your baby to be in good health. Nothing nasty touches your baby, not even your own hands.
- Lay your baby on the mat you grabbed earlier. Even better if these mats are absorbent, since your baby is not going to hold their pee or poo just because you are hard at work.
- Undo the tapes of the soiled baby diapers. Lift up your baby’s bottom a little and gently slide these diapers out.
- Use the wet wipes to gently clean the diaper area. Remember to clean between the folds of skin too.
- Use baby diaper rash cream on the diaper area.
- Now lift them up by the ankles a little and slide the clean diapers underneath.
- The diaper side which has Snuggy’s duck mascot and the yellow susu meter should be at the front.
- Close the tabs. The fit should be such that you are able to snugly slide your two finger at the top.
- Put the soiled diaper into the waste bin.
- Wash or dispose the mats.
